What is settled, and what is still moving

The law and prices can change. These are the points most likely to make an old page wrong.

The major injection shortages ended

The FDA said the tirzepatide injection shortage was resolved on December 19, 2024. It said the semaglutide injection shortage was resolved on February 21, 2025.

As of September 26, 2026, neither semaglutide injection nor tirzepatide appeared on the FDA drug-shortage list. A local pharmacy being out of stock is not the same as a national shortage listing.

Copying rules tightened after the shortages

A drug on the national shortage list can open a limited route for pharmacies to make copies to order. That process is called compounding. When the shortage ends, that route ends with it. Even then, a changed copy may be considered for a particular patient. The medical professional must document a change that would make a significant difference for that patient, as the law requires.

The FDA said in April 2026 that adding a vitamin to roughly the same injection can still leave the product “essentially a copy.”

Research-labelled sales drew enforcement

FDA warning letters dated March 31, 2026 and August 24, 2026 discussed products labelled “research use only.”

The FDA said those words did not change products that sellers were really marketing for human use.

The letters state what the FDA says the named sellers did wrong; they are not court decisions. Even so, they show how the FDA reads these pages: it looks at the whole sales page and what the seller says and does, not just one “research use only” statement.

A peptide committee record is incomplete

An outside committee that gives the FDA advice met on July 23 and 24, 2026. It discussed whether seven peptide ingredients belonged on the FDA list of bulk ingredients that regular pharmacies may use to make medicine to order. FDA staff had proposed that none be added.

On October 30, 2026, an HHS draft said the July panel voted in favor of adding MOTS-c, KPV, semax, epitalon, BPC-157 and TB-500. The FDA meeting page still has no transcript, minutes or record of individual votes. A committee vote would only advise the FDA. It would not change the law. The FDA must complete its official process for changing a federal rule before changing the list.

Some price offers expire soon

Several cash offers and savings-card terms reviewed for this guide run only through December 31, 2026. Every quoted price needs another check around that date.

How to read a dated note

An “as of” date is a boundary, not decoration. It says when the legal status, public-record search result or price was last checked. The further that date recedes, the less confidence to place in a time-sensitive claim.
